The goal of the Getting Grounded Group is to assist individuals in developing an awareness of the thoughts and actions that currently support their eating disorder and assist them in learning new coping strategies to effectively deal with their challenges. Individuals will explore ways to increase motivation and change their thoughts and actions to address their challenges by developing effective coping strategies through the practice of weekly individual goal setting, reflection, and support. Each week the focus will be on one of the five essential skills for change; Courage, Hope, Patience, Strength, & Confidence. The end goal is for individuals to increase their self-awareness by recognizing their own ability to work through their challenges and apply effective coping strategies to manage change with confidence.
